Can’t find what you’re looking for? We’re always happy to chat.
We begin with an initial meeting where we take time to understand your goals, routines, preferences, and communication style. During this conversation, we discuss the specific supports you're seeking, any unique needs or boundaries, the qualities you'd like in your support workers, and how you prefer your supports to be delivered. If we all agree to move forward, we'll arrange a meet and greet with potential team members so you can decide whether they're the right fit. The choice is completely yours.
No. We work flexibly around your needs. Some participants use a few hours of support each week, while others require more comprehensive arrangements. We'll discuss what makes sense for your situation and adjust as your needs change.
After completing your onboarding meeting and matching you with suitable workers, supports can typically begin within one to two weeks. We'll give you a clear timeline during our first conversation. If you have urgent needs, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Yes, and we strongly encourage it. After we identify team members we believe would be a good fit, we'll arrange a meet and greet. This gives you (and your family, if relevant) the opportunity to connect with them personally and decide whether you feel comfortable. We won't proceed with anyone who doesn't feel right for you.
Sharply Enabling Disability Support Services is an unregistered provider, which means we work with participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. Many people searching for approved NDIS providers in Adelaide assume registration is required to access quality support, but that isn't the case. Unregistered providers must still meet NDIS Code of Conduct requirements and deliver services that align with participant goals. The key difference is how your funding is managed, not the quality of care you receive.
Registered providers have undergone an audit against NDIS Practice Standards and can work with all funding management types, including NDIA-managed plans. Unregistered providers like Sharply Enabling DSS can work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Many families prefer working with smaller, unregistered providers because they often offer more flexibility, consistency, and personalised service compared to larger registered organisations.
Yes, if you're self-managed or plan-managed. Self-managed means you (or your nominee) control your funding directly. Plan-managed means a registered plan manager handles your invoices and payments on your behalf. If your plan is NDIA-managed (where the NDIS pays providers directly), we're unfortunately unable to support you at this time. Not sure which applies to you? Your support coordinator or plan manager can clarify, or contact us and we'll help you work it out.
Absolutely. We support both NDIS participants and people paying privately. If you have other funding arrangements or prefer to pay out of pocket, we'd be happy to discuss how we can help.
During your initial meeting, we learn about your communication style, interests, sensory needs, personal boundaries, and the qualities that matter most to you in a support worker. We then match you with team members based on skills, personality, and genuine compatibility. We don't just fill shifts with whoever is available.
All team members hold current NDIS Worker Screening Checks and relevant clearances. Our workers come from diverse backgrounds, including university students studying allied health, parents, and experienced full-time support workers. Beyond formal qualifications, we select people who demonstrate genuine empathy, reliability, and a commitment to building meaningful relationships with the people they support.
Consistency is one of our core values. We prioritise keeping the same workers on your team so you're not constantly explaining yourself to someone new. While occasional changes may be necessary (due to illness, leave, or scheduling), we work hard to minimise disruption and ensure continuity of care.
It happens, and it's okay. Let us know and we'll work with you to find someone better suited to your needs. Your comfort and trust matter more than any individual roster arrangement.
We provide a range of NDIS-funded and private supports, including daily living assistance (personal care, meal preparation, domestic tasks, medication reminders), community access and transport, skill building and independence training, social connection support, employment and education assistance, and respite care for families.
Yes. Our team is experienced in adapting to increased care needs. If your situation changes and you require more intensive support, we'll work with you to adjust arrangements and bring on additional team members as needed. One of our strengths is our ability to grow alongside participants as their needs evolve.
We offer flexible arrangements including overnight support and extended shifts for participants who need them. This includes short-term respite stays and ongoing in-home support. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Absolutely. We support participants with job readiness training, resume preparation, organising work experience or volunteering, interview practice, and mentoring during work placements or study transitions. Our goal is to help you build real skills and confidence that lead to meaningful opportunities.
Yes. We charge in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges. During onboarding, we'll explain exactly what costs apply to your supports so you know what to expect.
For plan-managed participants, we send invoices directly to your plan manager who handles payment on your behalf. For self-managed participants, we provide clear invoices that you can claim from your NDIS funding. We keep our invoicing straightforward and transparent, and we're happy to answer any questions about how your funding applies.
We follow NDIS cancellation guidelines. If you need to cancel a shift, we appreciate as much notice as possible so we can adjust our team's schedules. Short-notice cancellations (within a specified period before the shift) may incur a cancellation fee in line with NDIS rules. We'll explain the details during onboarding so there are no surprises.
Sharply Enabling DSS provides disability support services across Greater Adelaide, including the northern, southern, eastern, and western suburbs. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, contact us and we'll confirm.
We offer flexible scheduling including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts depending on your needs and worker availability. During your initial meeting, we'll discuss what times work best for you and build a schedule that fits your life.
Our primary service area is metropolitan Adelaide. If you're located in regional South Australia, get in touch to discuss whether we can accommodate your needs.
You can contact us by phone, email, or through our online enquiry form. We respond to all referral enquiries within one business day. When making a referral, it's helpful to include the participant's goals, preferred support types, location, and any specific requirements so we can assess suitability quickly.
Our services primarily align with Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life and Assistance with Social and Community Participation) and Capacity Building (Increased Social and Community Participation, Finding and Keeping a Job). We're happy to discuss how our supports can help participants achieve specific plan goals.
We acknowledge all referrals within one business day. After an initial meeting and worker matching, supports can typically commence within one to two weeks. If you have an urgent situation, contact us to discuss expedited arrangements.
Yes. We maintain regular communication with participants, families, and coordinators (with appropriate consent). We can provide updates for plan reviews and are happy to collaborate on goal tracking and reporting as needed.
Support Coordination is an NDIS-funded service that helps participants understand their plan, connect with providers, manage service agreements, and build the skills to navigate the NDIS more independently over time. It is funded through the Capacity Building budget in your NDIS plan, under the Support Coordination line. Not all plans automatically include this funding, but it can be requested at your next plan review if you feel it would benefit you.
A plan manager handles the financial side of your NDIS plan — receiving invoices from providers and processing payments on your behalf. A Support Coordinator works with you on the practical and strategic side — helping you understand your plan, find and connect with the right services, set up agreements, and work toward your goals. The two roles are complementary and many participants have both. They are funded from different parts of your plan.
Yes. Zakia provides Support Coordination, and our broader team provides hands-on daily living, community access, skill building, and other direct supports. Having both available through one trusted provider can simplify your experience, although Zakia will always make recommendations for your support services that match your needs best, not exclusively the services Sharply Enabling DSS provides. She will work with you to ensure the providers are the best option for you, and you always have the choice to access each service independently if that suits you better.
Our dedicated Support Coordinator is Zakia, a qualified Social Worker with over six years of experience in the NDIS and disability sector. Zakia holds a Master of Social Work from Flinders University, along with certifications in Life Coaching and Neuro-Transformation Therapy. Her practice is person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. She is committed to helping participants feel confident, informed, and in control of their supports. Learn More
You can request Support Coordination funding at your next plan review by explaining how it would help you achieve your goals. It helps to have documented evidence of why coordination support would benefit you — for example, if you are finding it difficult to manage multiple providers, navigate complex needs, or make full use of your current funding. Contact us and Zakia can talk you through the process and what to include in your request. Get in Touch
We're a small, relationship-focused team built on consistency and genuine care. Our founder, Jasmyn, started this service by building a trusted team for her own long-term clients, and that personal approach continues today. We prioritise matching you with workers who actually fit your personality and needs, keeping those workers consistent, and delivering supports that help you make real progress toward your goals rather than simply filling hours.
Absolutely. We regularly check in to make sure our approach remains aligned with your goals. If your needs increase, decrease, or shift in focus, we'll work with you to adjust your supports accordingly. Flexibility is one of the advantages of working with a smaller provider.
We welcome feedback and take concerns seriously. You can speak directly with your support worker, contact our team by phone or email, or request a meeting with Jasmyn. We're committed to resolving issues promptly and using feedback to continually improve our service.
We know choosing the right provider involves a lot of considerations. If you haven’t found the answer you’re looking for, or you’d prefer to talk things through in person, we’re here to help.
